Sports Club

Wednesday, August 24, 2005

Our workplace seems or feels dull. Yes, everyone is focusing on work. Responsible people we are, indeed. However, I strongly believe they could use some exercise. Getting to jog can be a real challenge. Sports.. on the other hand, seems like an interesting option to them. I organised a badminton session somewhere near our workplace. Turn-out was great. We had around 10 person who turned up. There could be more.. but they had last minute arrangements. So, .. I seem to be their newly appointed Sports Co-ordinator. They could use some exercises. I bet their spouse would thank me for giving them a workout. Not trying to ask them to exercise like I do. But, just to inject some sense of personal fitness or well-being balance in their lives. Good for the heart. Good for the soul. A little looking forward to .. .. "When is the next game?!" when one goes to work the next day. I could almost see the sparkle in everyone's eyes when they turned up. Laughter on people missing while trying to serve or smash the shuttlecock. Kinda like team building, minus the pressure.

Featuring.. Balasing Shoes

Monday, August 22, 2005

I have been featured because I bought a pair of new Asics shoes. Its new model Landreth II. Wow.. I think today's vistor count would jump higher. Let's see what would the statistics be by tomorrow. Food is digesting now. I think tomorrow I shall do the spreadsheet for running log. So, new Landreth II is going for a little stroll later. Or tomorrow morning? See how it goes.. suppose to have a rest.

12km MR

Sunday, August 21, 2005

I woke up at a rather early timing today. Around 5plus. Woke up by the sound of thunder. Oh no! Suppose to meet BrokenRunner for a run in MR. The sky was already red. But, by the time that I got out of the shower and ready to go, the sky cleared up.

Once reached MR, I saw Renohtaram and he got a new piece of gadget too. He is suppose to meet DreamRunner for a 20km run. Mm... I've not seen DreamRunner before yet. Maybe next time. Ah.. spotted BrokenRunner already and soon, Carine appeared. Oh. Carine was doing her secret ninja training today. hahh! 20km. BrokenRunner and I only went for a one round 11km (Plus a little extra hills on roads to make it 12km). We met jogging for 7km or so where we saw Meteor and Alvo2102. Man!! This place is crawling with familiar faces. After my run, I discovered that my AirMax can last for one last run, which is New Balance Real Run. So, I will be bringing her out for a last walk in the park. This Uncle Conan is slow. He can happily take his breakfast with Xena and then come to MR. Never even do a drop ship of carrot cake for me and yet he dares to ask for freebies from my Real Run rack pack. Hello... I have 4 safety pins as freebies for you.

Crucial and Confused

Wednesday, August 17, 2005

Why? At times like these, a crucial life and death situation, a ball comes flying into my court. A challenge to my mental concentration? Maybe. A test of the stress level that I can take? Probably. Not exactly as bad as the previous encounter. I still need to focus on current matters at hand. Answers? Results? Later. Okay. Enough of ramblings... Never knew bombs could drop on me. Again.

I need my sanity back, so I can jog in a straight line.
I need my sanity back, so I can swim and remember to breathe after each stroke.
I need my sanity back, so I can cycle on a bicycle rather than a trishaw.

Off to 5km and back from trying out my new ASICS GEL-LANDRETH II ! Yipeeeee! Seems like I have been wearing shoes that has worn out? Once I bought the pair of shoes at the mall, I can't wait to try it out. Just like a 5 year old with a new toy!! I love my new toy. So bouncy.

Plus... Happy Birthday Dear Karloong!!! Muack!!

Zero Energy

Sunday, August 14, 2005

No energy... Too tired from digesting all the books. 1700 pages over. Finally!! Now, I'll just have to do a revision on the notes that I have summarised from the 2 books. Pah!

Much relieved now that I've accomplished the 2 books target, I went for a slow .. really slow 5km run. Stamina loss again after no exercise for 2 days.

My previous posts on people's attempts to matchmake introduce friends have created some surge in my blog access. Haaha... remarkable. Not to mention on comments on post. Maybe soon, I'll have to state what qualities my partner should have?

No time = No runs

Thursday, August 11, 2005

Definitely confused by work today, I thought that it is a Wednesday today. Clown. I even typed two "today" in one sentence.

No time on runs. I hate this feeling. Books books books... channeling all my energies on this recert event. I just want to get it done. Moreover the sky don't look good tonight. Its not an excuse and I really want to run. *bored* My Nike AirMax is already showing signs of wearing out (worn out actually). So, I need to check with CyberKinetic on how much did he paid for his shinning new pair of Asics.

I've been wanting to change this blog's layout. Again. So, I think I'll probably start doing it after my recert.

More MSN IM jokes or should I say "friend only" intro from my funny colleague, BlurC, today.
BlurC: Are you free now? Anyone looking at your screen?
Muggs: No. Why? Do I need to act mysterious or suspicious looking too?

BlurC: Huh?
Muggs: *roll eyes* Nevermind. Yes?

BlurC: I have a friend. Single. Ex-classmate. Want to introduce to you.
Muggs: *Gulp* (Trying to sound polite or interested) She belongs to your era? How old is she?

BlurC: Younger than me. What is your religion?
Muggs: Why? My religion xxx

BlurC: Huh? Oooo.... She's not a xxx. She's a yyy.
Muggs: I see.

BlurC: So? Just be friends first... why not?
Muggs: *Scratching my sideburn* Not... Aiyah.. see how... some other days lah.

Not again.

*Pant*

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

Looks like pace is picking up for me. More.. more.. more..

Disappoint short run. Just 3.5km. Timing is just not right. I think I have to drop this Sunday's Tri due to work commitment. Really disappointed. There is always a race again. But, still. ... .arrrrgg!

Today was really a coincidence that I bumped into Fd. Mmm... just outside my office, at the bus stop. Ha!

Ok... enough clowning around. Back to slides creation for tomorrow's event and more reading... My neck is hurting like mad.... staring at the screen .. till I get tortise's neck.

Let me make myself a honey lemon drink first....

Bookworm

Tuesday, August 09, 2005

Alright... I'm nerdy enough already. At this slow and steady pace, I hope to get it done by next week. Another training week ahead(next week). I hope I have time for this.
I want to do my cycling!
I want to train my swim strokes!
I want to read magazines in Borders!
I want my Pina Colada!

So, not much for today. Make notes, study, surf a little online, forum a little. I did throw in a run before I watch the National Day Parade. Happy B'day, Little Red Dot!

MR25 Run

Sunday, August 07, 2005

I was having a lazy morning. But, I thought.. "Nah" .. I should wake up for revision and I did. Caught a little of oldies Cantonese movies on national TV before heading off to MR for the "challenge". A personal test.

Today's run was really a fun challenge. Run 5km in 25mins in MR Trails. I've ran in MR trails before. But, usually not in this part of the reservoir where the intervals between slopes are shorter. It keeps my legs working and my mind guess. Most important of all, the SRBC mini training-racing-makaning-phototaking session again. Renohtaram was first to arrive followed by Carine. Then, along came TLR and most of us deposited our bags with him. I had to carry mine with me because I wanted to take some pictures. We headed to the Time Trial start point and registered for the event. At the same time wondering where is BrokenRunner... Ah ha... there she was... hopping along. I bet she'll be able to qualify. She brought her siblings along for the run too. We did some stretching and some warm up runs before the flag off at 5pm sharp. I could sense the power and speed in a few other veteran runners already. At flag off, we went "boom" .. I was a little excited. Alvo2102 overtook me after 1km or 1.5km from the starting line. I caught up with BrokenRunner on the U-Turn way back and I cheered, "BrokenRunner, c'mon!". Near to 800m left, a female runner overtook me(I only got to know from TLR that she is "Phishy_"). I tried to keep close and I saw Carine right in front before the finishing line. Nevertheless, I did a 23mins 48secs for 5km. It is definitely a good run for me today. I'm in the Tortise category (I thought I would be in the Snail Category). Ha!! Fd came just in time when we finished and we took several shots. Yeah.. I was clowning around, in front of the camera again. We socialised around a little and I met a few new faces. Skyvers1810 and Phishy_. We're a little hungry and headed to the carpark for a few more pictures. We saw Phishy_ again and we invited her to join in for the group photo. Hungry ahh!! Must eat.

We gathered the TPY central for our dinner. But, I ordered a less than spectacular Tempura Udon. Moreover the portions were just enough to feed a cat. Ahaa... Penguin joined us at the dinner. We dropped by at WOS for registeration of Mizuno Run (for those who have not done so). Okay, that was all for an fruitful amazing day. I thought it was over..... When I reached home, went online, these people are chatting in a conference!! Yeeks! While I was still hungry and I grab a bowl of porridge, they called me a pig... hahhaha... What to do.. ? I tend to eat more when I train.

Our attendance for this tiring and challenging slopes run in MR(no particular order):
Skyvers1810, TLR, Renohtaram, BrokenRunner, Carine, Phishy_, Alvo2102 and Balasing.
Fd and Meteor were the pom pom girls for today. Fd doubled up as official photographer and bag jagarer.

I like the shadow shot by Fd. So silly. I guess she was waiting for us to stand for the group shot till she got bored.

What's YOUR Requirement?

Saturday, August 06, 2005

*Gulp*.... more interrogation. Now, its another person who does the "grilling session".

What do you know? My "requirement" has been classified as the "impossible to meet" condition. I am asked to quit dreaming. So, what now? Shall I lay some easy to find requirements like:
1) Rich woman?
2) Drop dead gorgeous babe?
I refuse to give in... anyway, I ended the wireless meaningless chat ... I thought the person had urgent things to ask me, I guess the problem can be solved... but, for me to give directions to the person, it is totally inapplicable IMHO.

So, I continued the chit chat with Beng and RLEK at MacDonalds till .... 11pm? Once I'm back home with my PC online, wow!! TLR and guys are all chatting!! Its a conference!! I think I chatted till 2plus am before collapsing on my bed.

Early this morning, I got to get up early to pass the Dive Comp to Donke. Then, its off I went over to Chini and 54Brownie's place to help them in shifting the furniture. *Phew* Took us sometime to shift those heavy stuff before going off for a great satisfying lunch.

Just When I Think It Is Safe Again....

Thursday, August 04, 2005

Ooops. 2days already, lack of posts. Really tied down with stuff at work. Yep, I'm trying to catch up with new field in I.T and yet study for my re-cert at night. Everynight, once 11pm, I'll dump all things aside and change for my runs. Runs are my only way to de-stress my mind and yet stress my knees at the same time. Mm..

So many scheduled events to take note of. Even a farewell dinner for an ex-colleague who is migrating to Canada. Good for him!

Carine did an excellent job at a re-vamp work on SGrunner site. The entire layout looks clean and easy to the eyes. Neat stuff Web-Mistress! Seems like August and September is going to be a busy month for us. So little time, so many races! Plus, I have several concurrent tasks at work! *Concuss* Ggrrrr ... where's my Pina Colada?

Another million dollar jackpot question was asked today just before knock off time, via MSN. My funny new colleague.

BlurC: Whoa.. not going home huh? Wife won't scold huh?
Muggs: Wife? No lah.

BlurC: No wife? Girl-friend?
Muggs: Haha... no... no.

BlurC: Why? Aren't you married?
Muggs: Yes, I am.

BlurC: Then?
Muggs: I have 3 big kids already.

BlurC: !!!! Serious??!! How old?
Muggs: No joke. Big kids. My dad, my mum and my sis.

BlurC: ##@%@#!!^*^
Muggs: Haha..ha. Keyboard going to be spoilt soon. No, I'm not married and I'm alone.

BlurC: How old are you? 19-- ?
Muggs: It's 19XX.

BlurC: What are your requirements? I'll keep a lookout for you.
Muggs: *blink* #&%^**&% (Not another "I intro my this-that brother's friend's cousin's neighbor's daughter")

BlurC: Hey... your turn... keyboard spoil already.
Muggs: Ok, my requirements ....... Minimum Processor Intel Pentium or compatible 2.8-GHz processor, Memory 1024 MB of RAM, Hard Disk 100 GB of available hard disk space, PCI-E Graphics Card, DVD Writer, 2 GBitEthernet, Firewire and USB2.0. Plus 17" LCD.

BlurC: ....... Go home lah, go home lah!!!

Just when I think it is safe to roam the streets again......Terror strikes! I fear there will be more interrogation on this topic again. Eh.... . tomorrow on training... *phew* Saved by the bell!

Support Fire!

Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Rising early to get over to Fullerton for a support role on seminar. Drat! I forgot to snap pics again. Too involved in the seminar stuff. Too many familiar faces, saying hello hi here and there. Once everything was over, it was near lunch time. I met up with Hamusa, Commando and Coulieo for lunch. Great meeting the guys again! Time flies when you are having fun. Too bad time was not enough for a quick coffee fix. Another day then.

I was kind of stoned for the whole of today. Down with slight flu and insufficient sleep. I hope I'll get better after a good night rest. Needing to sweat badly, I ran a 5km. I had to run anyway. 24min or so. Whoa.. long long time ago in a far away land.... I did it below 21min. Amazing. Guess I swallowed a cryptonite... Now lost all my super powers.

You Know You Need A Cuppa

Monday, August 01, 2005

at Fullerton. Chatting with folks over a cup of mocha has let me learn quite some stuff. We took a break after some set up. I was analysing myself. Changes, I need. Let me get it over and done with for my paper so that I can do more. I have more to learn in life. I was so lazed back into the couch that I forgot to take some pictures! Gee.. Fullerton has been around for some time and I haven't set a foot into the hotel. But, I still remember those days that Beng and I took some pictures of ourselves in Uni Graduation gowns.

Great! Tomorrow's event will be interesting.... will be meeting some old friends again!

The heat wave during lunch time was really terrible. I would have preferred this kind of weather if I was in my swim wear. Practically melting...
Rest day for me after long run on Sunday. Training resumes tomorrow. Meanwhile, more reading up to do. Time is precious.

2nd SGRunners Run

Sunday, July 31, 2005

Barely recovering from our run last week (I was just kidding), we set an outing for our 2nd run at East Coast this morning. Waking up at 5.20am was a little difficult. But, thinking about the great run that we will be having... it got me excited. Fd was suppose to meet Carine and me. Eventually, she still could not make it. So, I waited for Carine at the first cabin. My only clue. She's wearing white T-shirt and I've seen her photo on her blog. We did meet. That wasn't so difficult. Taz was already at the destination and TLR came soon after at the pick up point before we all move to East Coast. While waiting for the rest to come, everyone was doing warm ups. Soon came Penguin on her Grey IronHorse. BrokenRunner came running too. Finally, Kay. I've seen everyone before except for Carine and Kay. Once everyone was good to go, we started off with a chit chat pace. TLR snapping pictures from his mobile phone along the way! I think it was around 10km, I split off from the group. I did an U-turn while the rest proceeded to do 21km. I did not want to do more than my targeted distance. At around 11 or 12km, I stopped to walk back. A warm down before enjoying a good 1 hour of sea breeze. *relaxed* BrokenRunner told me they saw Gentle. Awww... next time.

The rest came back an hour later. Really proud of you guys!! We did a wash up before having MacDonalds breakfast. By now, everyone took their cameras out and started shooting away. Everyone had set meals except TLR and Carine (they took drinks only). Woa! This made us felt guilty... Or I should say I feel guilty.. I only did a 11km. Our 2nd outing ended with a satisfying meal after an excellent run from the guys and gals. Poor penguin has to cycle back. It was a cycle-run-cycle event for her this morning.

I headed home for another appointment. I got to help ZhuiTeLun settle his project problem. Too bad, the things are suppose to work or rather not working now. I tried different ideas and tricks.... nope. Nothing moved. We called it a day and headed off a nearby mall for dinner. Such coincidence. OCS called me. I asked him to come along. So, it was just a simple dinner and catching between the guys since OCS has not seen ZhuiTeLun for quite some time.

Today, it has been wonderful. I wouldn't mind traveling down to EC for another run again. In attendance today: TLR, Kay, Carine, Taz, Penguin, BrokenRunner and Balasing (Plus Gentle, whom I fail to meet).

Pic 1: Kay has a pair of new shoes that got TLR excited!! He's trigger happy!!
Pic 2: Sea breeze from your left
Pic 3: "We completed 21km!! Tired ahhhhh!! Where's my MacDonalds?"
Pic 4: TLR is making funny faces at Kay

For those who missed the run ...... we love to see you join in the run.

Last Trial RoadSandTrail Run

Saturday, July 30, 2005

Muggs after a tiring run. This shot is taken during our very first SGRunners outing. Complimentary picture taken by our Official photographer, FD. She does a good job, doubling up as a bagagge counter jaga person. Tomorrow, we are having a run again. Waking up early tomorrow.

Lately, busy with Cramsessions, Conan asked why my blog has less substance. My answer to you, Uncle, is that if my life is as saucy as yours to blog about, I would have been a plate of seafood pasta.

I had an enjoying 2 hrs badminton session today. Another new venue. Now, I know I can cycle there. When was the last time since I played? Several months?

Blogger Again?

Thursday, July 28, 2005

What's wrong with Blogger these days? Too many users? The response time is getting a little laggy.

Many races are coming up soon. Think I'm beginning to lose track. I would like to try a half Ironman distance race. But, most are within this year, which I can't take leave from work yet. So, it'll be training till then.

I think I'll have to list out my up and coming races.... losing count.

Great! Tomorrow night meeting some of the ex-TD batches of people for dinner. I'm sure there is much to talk about since we've not seen each other for some time.

No Swim

Tuesday, July 26, 2005

What a shame. This morning, it was raining heavily. Wasn't able to go for an early swim. Postpone to tomorrow night then. Nevertheless, it was great to stay in bed while it rained like nobody's business around 5am.

Teoh is in town. RLEK and I brought him to dinner. We drove around town area for a quick glance of shopping areas since it was already close to 10pm after our dinner and chit chat. We'll see if we can bring him around again, since he is only staying till Friday night.

Can't wait to get back to my swim training. Getting a little too dry nowadays.

Brain Cram

Monday, July 25, 2005

Think my brain is all crammed up from recent cramsessions. A little stoned now. So, I thought it would be a good idea to join JapBoy for a couple of American Pool sessions. I was stuck in the rain, thinking it would be faster to hop on a bus (merely 3 stops away). The next bus 131 came along and it was totally packed. I waited a little longer. Finally, the rain stopped. Heck. I might as well walk. However, when I reach my destination, I turned to see an empty bus 131 reaching my destination's bus stop. *Grrr* Just like what myFTOgpx always say, "No come, no come come. One come, three four come." Fortunately, we had a good dinner at Subway and finished off with a few interesting games . A good fight!

*Yawn* Got to sleep early. Resting my legs for this week, tonight. Waking early tomorrow for a swim. Mm.. night time .. will be bringing my neighboring country counterpart / colleague for a dinner and walk in town.

Morning "Run-Together" Session

Sunday, July 24, 2005

6.15am. I spang up and got out of bed. I didn't want to be late. Meeting some joggers, new faces today! Skipped breakfast because we will be having MacDonalds after the run anyway!

Reaching the Vistors Arrival Centre, TLR is no where in sight. I have to agree that he is quite prominent though. But, I saw Penguin first and I said "Hi!". We proceeded to look for a Honda Jazz... honda Jazz... nope.. that's a van. Honda civic, nope. Nissans, nope. Ah. ... here comes the Honda Jazz. There we have it. TLR and FD. We gathered around and there were ..say... around 8 - 10 of us? Everyone is trying to remember 2 names, forum id / blog names and our real names. We took a picture before our run. We mixed and mingled around a little before the start of the trial run. I did catch sight of a few familiar faces of joggers who frequent the MR trails. DO is one of them. Alamak! FD really jaga bags!!

At 8am sharp, off we went for a 10km of road, beach sand, road run. There were many good runners around. We were all laughing at BrokenRunner. Maybe she got fixed??!! She ain't broken anymore. She's a fast runner! Along the way, we saw a handful of cyclist. I guess they are training for the up and coming Triathlon. When I crossed the end point.. there was already a crowd. I'm slow. When everyone came, we took a picture again. So, its a before run and after run faces picture. Oh yeah... everyone was asking CyberKinetic, "Where's our caffine fix??!". Since we're done with the run, we changed and went for breakfast at MacDonalds. We had to squeeze a little at the long table. I think those in the centre are the busiest. Turning left and right to interact with different people, right? FD? More pics taken.... and Muggs forgot to bring his camera... After talking to TLR, I found out that I know some of his colleagues. Such a small world. Small world indeed.

Okay, got to take a quick nap and then back to testing and more cramsessions. It was nice meeting you all at the run. In no particular order:
TLR, FD, Penguin, renohtaram, Taz, CyberKinetic, DO, BrokenRunner, kops21
Did I miss out anyone? Pardon me, if I did. See you guys around. We can meet up for shopping or carbo loading instead of run too. Thanks for the ride, TLR.

I had fun today. How about you? Feel like doing a swim later.. mm

Wedding Invites

Saturday, July 23, 2005

Blogger.com was acting really weird last night and I couldn't update at all. *fist*

Today's schedule was kinda hectic for a weekend. Woke up late since cramsession ended late last night. I had to rush to meet Beng, Kitty and Lambie for breakfast. Reason? Kitty is distributing her wedding invitations today! We had a length chat because all we talked about were wedding stuff!! RLEK buzzed me, for its time to head to the GeekTemple for some I.T. shopping. I collected several items needed in the office and headed back. We had testing to proceed with. It was really a bad lunch cum dinner combo timing at what.... 4pm? *slaps forehead* We stopped our tests when RLEK had to proceed with his appointment. I came home and more cramsessions waiting for me. Some more studying sessions later.

Whoa! It was raining fish and crabs today. I hope tomorrow, there isn't going to be any rain. Basically, a runners group is going to meet up for a familiarization jog tomorrow! This is so exciting. We have blogger convention, people who blog, meet and party. We blog, meet, jog, eat and still party!! Yay! Will have to register and associate their faces to forum and blog names.

I'm Combustible

Thursday, July 21, 2005

Flame me cos it doesn't pay to be kind, okay?

Okay, its just that one individual. Friends are suppose to help each other out, lend a helping hand, lend a ear and what have you. But, I stretched out my hand and got torched instead. Almost reduced to carbon bits from 3rd degree burns. I always stress that SMS is one of the biggest invention with a price. You can't include emotions. I guess next time my SMS will have to include *curious* or *concerned* or *happy, screaming, jumping up and down*.

Then again, maybe its just me. But, ... why re-channel stress to those around you? Humans. Funny creatures, we are. Dropping this topic.

Viola! Beng dropped by our office today. A pleasant surprise. Nah.. he wasn't the familiar face I mentioned yesterday.

A few of us mentioned about sports and the topic of American Pool came up. Looks like I'm going to have a game or two with my new colleagues soon. Can't wait.

Last night, in bed, I felt different. Much lighter emotionally. Walk in KL rain did have its miraculous healings.

Little Rock

Wednesday, July 20, 2005

I.T. industry is really small. Tomorrow, another familiar face will pop by our office. Small world.

How irritating can a small pebble be? Very. Oh yeah, when its in your shoe while you're running. Fortunately, it wasn't really that bad and I was able to endure till I finish off my run.

Glad that I've achieved what I want to revise for the day. More to come. Blur visions.

Bump Into TD Day

Tuesday, July 19, 2005

A great day I would say .. for me. I bumped into 4 ex-TD staff, on separate locations!! My!! SH and CK are going to blade near the East Coast stretch this Saturday. Since, I'm meeting Kitty, Lambie and Beng for breakfast on this Saturday too, I thought I might just pop by East Coast too. Good idea!

Anyway, seeing ArcadeDT was pure luck! Fancy bumping into him at the arcade centre. Muggs has not been to an arcade centre for... . I can't remember how long was that. After watching ArcadeDT finishing off several of his tokens, we went for a quick dinner. Work chit chat... yeah.. it an I.T. engineers' habit (to talk about work over meals). We went back for more Beat-You-Up arcade games. I discovered that I have lost track of the games for so long. I don't even know how to play some of them. At least not as good as those who frequent arcade that often. Its great to see pals again!

I don't exactly know why. But, suddenly, I have a craving for a glass of Pina Colada. Must be the stress.

A Little Less Button Making

Monday, July 18, 2005

These days, I'm getting a little busier in work. If you have noticed by now, I have some backlog on button creation .. .. creativity all gone, sucked by cells used for exam cert crams. A few papers are waiting for me to clear. All eyes on me. Now, I know how a pressure cooker feels like. I have to keep moving, else .. rust will form.

KL Official Business Trip

Sunday, July 17, 2005

Not too many pics here. I filtered out the lousy ones. I'm pretty selective or picky (you can put it this way) when it comes to photos. 2 scaled down shots of Petronas Towers in night scene. Suria KLCC, its shopping mall, which has a huge place for you to shop around. What do you know!!? I saw Zouk too. No, I didn't get to go in. The last 2 photo shots are just to kill time.... I was waiting for my bus back home. Bus pick up point was near KLCC on the last day.

Whoa!! I just went through a friend's recce trip!! Looks like loads of fun!!! Reminded me of my MenInGreen days. Now, ... onto my KL trip details ...

Nothing out of the extra ordinary that I could write about in this KL trip. Hey! What do you expect? Its an official trip. I was sent to go on a course. My pre-programmed itinenary from 11-15th July daily was:

  1. Wake up
  2. Breakfast
  3. Training
  4. Lunch
  5. Training
  6. Dinner
  7. Tea breaks are spaced at 10am and 3pm respectively (Getting fat)
I had a good dinner at HRC with Beng on Tuesday and with Wita / Ruri on Friday. The rest of the dinners were bought by local office or course conductors.

But, I learnt a few things during this trip.
  1. I look younger than most in my age group
  2. Ignorance is a bliss
  3. It is always great to travel - because I don't have ESPN channels
  4. Rain does have it therapeutic effects
  5. Conversion rates do not necessary work for you
  6. I need a hair stylist instead of a barber
A few strangers have commented that I look younger than most among my age. I almost went broke buying all of them dinners. Should I be feeling happy? I do feel a little like 23 now, though technically I'm not. Burst my bubble. Ignorance is a bliss

Usually, EPSN sports channels are my fav during traveling. I didn't subscribe them. So, ... I can only watch them when I'm traveling. Pool championship 2005 was on. I caught a little of "Harry Potter" too.

Conversion rate!! I guess for most of the time, it sure helps ... just make sure that you're not shopping at malls or taking your meals in fancy restaurants. I did come across a neat looking jersey for cycling... its tag, RM$400 odd!! No way, I'm going to buy that. Most sporting goods that I came across at the mall are more expensive than those selling in back home here.

It has been .... a few years since I last walked in the rain. Pure coincidence. I have no umbrella and I need to grab my dinner. Heck, I was caught in the rain. But, it did clear up my thought a little.

While shopping around, I remembered that I needed a Timex watch. I walked into a shop. Within seconds, I heard the sales assistants talking about me and I pretended I didn't know the language they used. Lingering around the area, on the pretense of looking for a watch.
Sales Lady: See? You should cut your hair like this guy. So neat and tidy.
Sales Guy: Huh? You serious. So, square.

Sales Lady: Look at you. Your hair is so long. So untidy.
Sales Guy: His hair style is so simple. Looks simple minded.

Whoa... thanks ... I really need a hair stylist now.

KL With Love

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Alamak!! Everyday eat, course study... eat, course study, sleep... no exercise...
Getting fat liao...putting on weight.... Gosh... Internet access from the hotel is RM$15 per half hr... get serious!!! No way I'm going to pay that!!! No security at all.... can't clear cache.. old virus scan version...

Dinner with Beng in KL was good! We had dinner at HRC. Simple dinner, a drink and he's off back to his room to prepare slides for his presentation. Poor little fella.

Lucky thing.. I'm in local KL office... more stories .. when I'm back...
I feel my stamina going away.... I miss my jogging shoes.

Busy Day Before KL Trip

Saturday, July 09, 2005

Today was a busy day for running errands. Hopped on BlackSteed, payed my bills, got my mobile roaming enabled and changed a little foreign currency. However, I did took some time off to meet Lambie for lunch... Gag!! I had late breakfast and it resulted in me not eating much during lunch. Met up Commando to do a little catching up. Whoa! He got himself a new car! Good for him!! Looks like the bonus has been put to some good use. It was a good cycle.. 32km of running around. Getting ready to go KL this sunday. How can I say I'm ready?!! My bags are not even packed yet!! Shite!! More pics I hope.... cos ... Beng coincidentally is going to KL too!!! He will arrive later and go off earlier!! He's just spending 3 days there, while I'm spending around 6-7 days there. Ha... we'll be hanging out for coffee or walkarounds. This can't be any better!!

BBQ Pics Update

Thursday, July 07, 2005

The BBQ pics are up now with stories included. Take a look at them here. Took me a few days to edit and write the story out. *Phew* Okay. Got to get my shields up to defend myself from being attacked by Conan and Xena. On guard!!

I'll leave you with my race photo. Looks like its time for an aerobar.

I'll leave you with more laughters of my fruitcake / Ribena blackcurrent lookalike shot. Looks like I have a little love handles ...

First Day, New Job

Monday, July 04, 2005

My first day at work and I will be attending a 2day seminar (tomorrow is second day). After speaking to a few field people from several companies, I got to know that a lot of tech staff out there are speculating where am I moving to (guessing this new company I'm joining). Hooray! I'm holding onto a temporary assigned notebook. Okay, I can throw this notebook at some guy and still knock him out cold with its weight. Yay... able to blog again. 10-15th Jul will be in KL for training. More training in the queue. Its great to be back in the field work again. My role is now a Pre-Sales Engineer (covering some Post-Sales role).

My First Triathlon Experience

Now, this race experience is a really long post. Here goes nothing ....

3rd Jul 2005. Triathlon Race day. Since I was at the chalet which is really near to the race compound (which is like a 5min slow bike ride), I woke up slightly later. At 0520hrs, the rest of the guys (RanchuKing, ChiefClerk, Conan and Xena) are still in slumber land. I did some washing up before munching down 2 bananas. Heck.... why bathe when you're about to jump into the open sea for a 1.5km swim, right? Okay, I was being downight dirty then. After performing some water parading, I woke RanchuKing up to lock the door.

I proceeded to the race compound while the sky was still dark. I laid out all my stuff, doing my own rehearsal at the same time. A friendly chap offered to write my race number on my arms and legs using perm marker while I returned the favor too. We were then chatting about the race. There were so many gorgeous bikes around!! I think all the bikes in this holding area would have mounted up to a total worth of a few hundred thousands of dollars!! Maybe even a million! I looked around but I couldn't find any familiar faces. But, I spotted Biker Boey!!! She don't know me. I recognised her right away from Kisetsu's albums. She was doing the relay.

The swim leg: 1.5km
Emcee made the announcement to gather for a race briefing. " ... turn at the yellow buoy .. swim outside the .. watch the currents .. no kicking ... Aright!! We're ready to roll!!" I saw ickleOriental!!! But, I think she was giving some last minute encouragements to Andrew. So, I didn't went over to say hi. I didn't want to interrupt. She wasn't in her swim wear, and so I thought she was injured. Well, after reading her journal, I found out that she was doing the sprint race. "Purple caps, if you would gather in the starting line", the Emcee announced. It was Muggs's turn to line up for the open water swim. The horn went off and we all made splashed as the waves came in. No kicking? Says who? I was scratched and kicked at, several times. I even helped myself with a mouthful of sea water. But, still .. . I feel that I was going at a steady pace. I exited the swim and got out of the beach area at around 47mins and headed for my bike. Shite!! I wanted to pee ... Damn it.... but the toilet was out of the way... Mind over matter.. ... Endurance, I told myself.

The bike leg: 40km
I mounted my bike and went off. In this leg, my tyres went over countless opened PowerGel packets!! There were too much to see in this leg of the race. I heard bike crashes behind me (which I didn't turn too see, didn't want to loose concentration). I saw a bike crash across the other side. Everyone is going at such high speed!! Everyone is shouting, "Bike on your right!!" or "Keep left!!" to warn cyclist ahead. Some even shouted, "Slow down!!", to warn dangers ahead. A fellow cyclist with a bleeding left elbow (fresh wounds, apparantly from a crash or fall), continued with full speed ahead. I was even amazed when I saw a cyclist with a mountain bike that has a toddler chair mounted behind him!! It isn't exactly a thing to laugh at. But, talk about determination to race!! You can almost race in anything!! I witnessed a biker (kind enough to stop his bike) running back to retrieve his bottle that fell on the road. However, he fumbled, tripped and fell before getting to his bottle. He was really considerate. At my last round, I saw a fellow cyclist who went down. I stopped by to ask if he needed any help. He said he is okay. I wished him luck before going off. I passed the friendly fella who offered to mark my race number on my arms before the race started. "'C'mon man!! Last lap!!", I shouted. "Okay!! Last lap already!", he replied. Our morale were still pretty high!! As I approached the bike dismounting line, I saw another fellow biker in front of me. She was on a mountain bike with slicks. Already at a slow speed, I did an E-brake when I saw her fumbling and falling off the bike. The official was telling her to dismount. But, I think she was nervous. If I were to hit the mountain bike, even at the slowed speed, my GreyHound would R.I.P.. As my bike stopped, I had a slight bad twist at my left ankle. At this time??!!! I still have another 10km give my legs a good pounding!! I took several minutes off to stretch and rotate my left ankle. Finishing the race, injury free is more important than timing. I stretched my quads well enough before moving out for my run.

The run leg: 10km
Damn!!! My bladder was going to burst!! A quarter of my run, I spotted a washroom and I headed straight for it!! Ahhhh!! Relieved, I continued my race. Now, the most inspiring round in this race. It is the things that I saw in this leg of the race that made me so moved that I would want to race till the day I can't do it anymore. I saw a fellow triathlete, who is 60yrs and above (I did a check on his race results), and his race timing is slightly more than mine!! I passed him and I cheered him on by giving a friendly smile. Next, I saw the most touching thing of human fighting spirit in this race. A gentleman, with only a right arm (clearly, his left arm was amputated) raced on with his head high! Seriously, given the fact that I was tired, I almost teared (moved by his determination). I totally respected the man for his physical and mental strength! Ladies and gentlemen who are totally overweight (pardon me for being rude), gave triathlon a shot too. They completed the race with so much grace. I saw SehSuan (he didn't know who I was too). He was on his bike. I don't think he was in the race. I saw Phoebe twice on the opposite side of the running track. But, I couldn't call out to her. Tired, man. While I completed this race, I felt great even though I felt drained physically. I smiled at my first shiny Triathlon finishers medal. Oops .. I already have sunburn!!

End of my Triathlon. 1.5km of swim, 40km of cycle and 10km of run. Not exactly the greatest... but, I feel accomplished for my goal.

Hey!! I managed to see Phoebe again when I was at the exit point of the bike compound. I said hi to her. She was quite puzzled about who I was at first. But, after explaining to her who I was, it was "Ohhhh... . so it's you.". Hahahah. See you around!!

So, to all those Triathletes to be ... "Believe in yourself, train hard, train sensible, follow your dreams!". Quit saying, "I don't think I can do it.". If they can do it, so can you:
1) Cyclist falling to his knees just to recover his water bottle.
2) Cyclist with a bleeding left elbow at full speed ahead.
3) Cyclist racing using a mountain bike mounted with a toddler chair behind. Talk about drag!!
4) Over 60year old gentleman, completing the race.
5) More obese fellow triathletes completing the race.
6) A gentlemen with an amputated left arm racing his way through. Think of all the determination he has in order to make it through the swimming and cycling leg of the race!!! For this, I salute him from the bottom of my heart!!

Completing the race already makes one a winner!!

This is why I enjoy races so much. The things that I witness are so motivating. Touches one's heart. One of the greatest fighting spirits in mankind would be the passion that one has in sports.
Man, it feels great to be alive and kicking. See you in Triathlon 2006.

*wink* No training tonight. Rest.

Pre-Race BBQ

Saturday, July 02, 2005

The time on our watches clearly showed 4pm... and 54Chini is already holding onto 4 skewers of marinated chicken wings, getting ready for action!!

54Chini asked, "Are we ready!!??". "Noooooo!!!", we all replied in unison. 54Chini pouted and ran complaining to 54Brownie who happened to be holding onto the camera. That explains why she is not featured in this entire set of photographs. Okay. Alright. The earliest that we can start fire is around 5pm. At 5 sharp, we started a mini-fire starting competition. It was Muggs vs. Conan the Barbarian ... Needless to say, Conan who spends 90% of his life in the wild (last 10% in his silver hawk) challenged Muggs. "No, your fire will be lousy... I tell you...". I got warned by Conan for starting fire too close to his Tag Heuer. That is a bloody imitating sun dial wrapped around his wrist!!! Tag Heuer my a55. Well, it doesn't matter who won... both our fires were good enough to BBQ anything. 54Chini's turn to show his BBQ-ing chicken wings skill.

As we cooked more food... the pit was getting piled up with food.... Conan ordered Xena around, "Ooei, Xena... serve the guests!!" You guys should have seen Xena then... she was almost ready to draw swords. It took almost 3 other guys to hold her back and say, "Relax... barbarians are just like that....". "Hurrr.... ", she took some Otahs...and went eating in a corner. She picked up another few sticks of satay along the way. Conan pissed his Warrior Princess off .. and damn.. he is alone now. Kinda lonely now, he decides to get fresh with Muggs... "KNN.. take your hands off me!! You hug me for F@rk!". Conan seemed to be enjoying every minute of it.

By now, Xena demanded that Conan should feed her. "Keep your hands off Muggs!!", she gave specific instructions to Conan. The Barbarian feeding Warrior Princess with BBQ-ed butter coated corn.... How romantic. "Say ahhhhh!!". Pathetic Muggs had no one to feed him except for himself. Okay, its a D-I-Y. "Muggs, say Ahhh...!!". "KNNaahhhhhh!"

EndlessTrail popped by to say hello. He was too shy to have some food.. We had more than just a little of leftovers, thanks to RanchuKing who initially wanted to buy 100 pieces of Otahs. Crazy. Madness. So, they made Muggs squat just outside his chalet to sell the leftovers off. "Fishball, currypuff, pohpiah.. drinks!!!". Talk about entrepreneurship.

New Shoes?

Friday, July 01, 2005

Hi people!! I'm at my friend's office today, using his station for blogging. Going for lunch soon before I collect the keys to the chalet. This morning, I cycled from home to this office location and clocked a distance of 26.3km. I've had a good few puffs of extra thick carbon smoke from vehicle exhausts. It is always nice meeting good friends for lunches. I was looking around my shoes while waiting for my friend and I spotted some major wear and tear. My Nike AirMax is beginning to show the cushion from the base of my left shoe!!! In no time, I'll have no more ... "Air" left.... once the friction against the road has puncture the cushioning. I need a new pair of shoes. Either some Sale out there can get me a cheaper pair of runner shoes... else.. .. I'll try Mizuno or its back to Asics.

Tomorrow night is BBQ night.. Woo hoo!!

Last Day

Wednesday, June 29, 2005

*Counting down 4 more days before I get salt deposits on my face*

Last night, it was fun having dinner with Kitty, Lambie and Beng. KittyTrainer was suppose to join us. But, he had to work instead. Gang4 missed the fun too. We always have loads of stuff to laugh at. Mostly, due to Lambie's hearing.... wool is always in her ears. StarBucks called it a day (at the particular branch we went to). Otherwise, we would have sat around longer. I became the topic of the day with regards to the SMS and IM messages that I received. Well .. ... I don't really agree with Kitty and Lambie's view on Turtle was hoping for some reply from me.

Now, about the last day as the post title, tomorrow would be my last day of work at my current work place. I made a couple of good friends in this workplace. I learned some stuff too. I guess its not about how the length of stay in a company. It is what you have learned from the work experience there. But, this also translate to something else. I can't blog for a couple of days!! Friday to Sunday, I'll be at a chalet. Sunday is the Triathlon race. My new job starts on Monday. What coincidence?! I am asked to attend the course / seminar happening on Monday and Tuesday. Effectively, I would reporting to work on Wednesday. By then, I'll get a notebook. Meanwhile, I'll try to get my hands on a terminal that has Internet access. Keep a lookout! I hope to take more pics at the BBQ happening on Saturday night!! Smile at the camera please? Don't be shy. Looks like I will have a lot of catching up on reading other people's blog by then.

I'm eyeing on the Terry Fox Run that is coming in September too... I missed the run last year, due to work commitment. Since last year, I promised myself for a rewarding trip to Vertical Marathon at Banyan Tree Bangkok. Since I'm changing my job, I'm not too sure if I can make it. Let's see how it goes.

What??!!

Tuesday, June 28, 2005

1st What??!!
Violet. How nice ..... . !@%$@! How bloody crappy is this color for my swim cap in the triathlon race? VERY COOL, NOT. *eyes roll* I would have preferred a white or light blue. Since I am on a official half day off today, I went to the Race Expo to collect my race pack. When I saw the color of my swim cap, I almost passed out. I thought I was teleported via time travel to the "FlowerPower" 60's. Violet color. How yeah. Okay, probably colors like these are for old farts like us. Now, I look like a blackcurrent. Ribena. Purple swim cap, you complete me.... KNS.

Other goodies in the goodies pack include:
1) A OSIM Pill Timer (Maybe Bala will find some good use out of this)
2) A Freebie health magazine
3) A pen (BAX Global printing. Sponsor?)
4) 3 x LaraBar health food (energy / health bar)
5) 3 x Tatoo looking OSIM stick-ons
6) Tons of race day info for me to digest
7) A can of H-Two-O sports drink
8) Subaru cap (More on this later)

2nd What??!!
Now, A Subaru Cap joke. I'm no race car fan. Since Conan is a tires-burning (burn-lubber, in our local context), hot rod car racing fan, I called him.
Muggs:Uncle, race pack has Subaru Cap. You want? I don't like cars.
Conan:Whoa! I wan I wan I wan.

Muggs: Since we're having BBQ before my race day, maybe you want to contribute some good food in exchange for this Subaru cap. I like crabs.
Conan: I can give you crap.

Muggs: That kind, you can keep it to yourself. I have loads of them.
Conan: I can exchange some valuable information.

Muggs: None of your information is useful. Not to mention valuable.
Conan: It concerns you too. I will tell you later.

Muggs:*whispers* *pssst pssst pssst pssst* (Muggs guessed the secret information correctly himself)
Conan: KNS. Ack-Hahahaha (Mechanical laughter in attempt to mask the "leaking secret")

Muggs: Talk again. Later.
Conan: Heh heh heh

An hour later, I received a lovey-dovey SMS.

[insert Nokia SMS ringtone] Hahaha. Miss u. 2nite see u ok. My fren, Muggs, give me Subaru cap from this sunday race. Hehe. [text removed by Muggs] Hehe.

Bloody hell. I fell off my chair. Since when did Conan take a different and 180 degree turn in his sexual preference? SMS sent to wrong recipent. Ahh.. so, I discovered. I replied.

[insert Nokia SMS ringtone] Stupid old fart! I dun miss you. U send love msg to me for Fish? Goon-head. Buzz off.

Instantaneously, I heard my phone's SMS ringtone again.

[insert Nokia SMS ringtone] Shite! Sent msg to wrong person.

I stumbled upon a little secret. Told ya that the information does not concern me. Valuable? Never. But, at least, it is a good piece of news for my friend. Going for my swim later. I'll try not to laugh my swimming trunks off in the pool. By the way, Conan has requested me, at spear point, to add in codename "Xena The Warrior Princess". Shite. Eeee. I'm getting goosebumps already.

Lesson of the Day: Double Check Triple Check who you are sending an uplifting SMS to.

Yosemite

Had a day's worth of hard work at myFTOgpx's place last night.... . whopping some a**es on PS2 Dynasty Warriors for the whole of yesterday. I went through a little of his holiday pictures in U.S. with his love. I saw Yosemite!!! This guy actually went there!!! No kidding ... But, I'm glad that he and Sammy enjoyed the place. Yosemite has always been my dream vacation. If possible, do a camp and trek, it would be heaven. Imagine sleeping under the star filled night sky. Simply breathtaking!! Some pictures of places like Anaheim Disneyland and San Francisco certainly refreshed my memories. There are a few shots taken by myFTOgpx which I think are really beautiful. I love the combination of color blending. Didn't have much time to go through all the photos .. . Got to "borrow" a couple to post them here, especially those shots on Yosemite. Thoughtful myFTOgpx and Sammy bought me a box of See's Dark Chocolate Almond. You see .... Muggs is not exactly a chocolate person. Not that I do not like chocolates. But, if I cross the border of a certain dosage (like 2 morsels from a chocolate bar), I will get sore throat coming my way, long before I know what hit me. See's chocolates .... mmm *gobble* *gobble* .... so, last night, I took a little more than the specified dosage limit ... "What is death, without some sinful dark chocolates!!??" Okay. Now, I'm gulping H2O like a lunatic .... remedy actions to prevent sore throat outbreak....

A E-newletter caught my attention. Army Half Marathon is back and registration is going to be up in mid July.

Movie: InitialD

Sunday, June 26, 2005

RanchuKing, ChiefClerk, Conan and Muggs caught the movie, InitialD, at 1640hrs. Some people gave negative feedback about this movie. But, I think this movie is not too bad. If you are hoping for something like "Gone in 60secs" kind of show, then look elsewhere. We had dinner and a little coffee before heading home. I had my swimming gear with me. Too bad, there wasn't enough time for me to squeeze in a swim. Cycling is still possible with my BlackSteed. A 25.8km and yet, things to see again. 5 - 8 mountain bikers cycling westwards. A pair of lovebirds locking lips at a bus stop. (^.^) At 0130hrs?? Oh yeah .... you can do pretty much what you want at the bus stop at this hour. A motorcyclist giving me a friendly warning honk.

Now, I'm hungry and eating some chips. Later at 0900hrs ... . Dynasty Warriors shall battle it out again. I'll take a look at myFTOgpx's holiday pics taken in U.S. too. Time to shower and sleep. It was good brute force training just now.

Crazy Day at Work

Saturday, June 25, 2005

They left me a present. A really crazy day at work. Loads of stuff to settle. Meetings, patches and evaluations. Now, I understand what "No Fear" means to them. It equates to "No problem, even if there is its not my problem". I had a great lunch with ZhiMien, leaving me a little recharged. This guy is always in deep thoughts. He's might be thinking of what new electronics gadget to own!! Strangely, at a hideaway place in the CBD area, there is a little restaurant that serves japanese food showed to me by ZhiMien. Left work at a later than usual timing and it costed me a swim session. Mm .... I used the time for my run. A short 5km slow run before I brought my GreyHound out for a spin. Some guy's car got smashed up pretty badly at the junction. I sure hope the driver is fine. They had to get the police to direct traffic. 14.8km, a short ride for my GreyHound. More long swim and medium run tomorrow. Not too sure if RanchuKing and Conan have gotten the tickets for InitialD. Likely to be a 5pm show.

Suddenly, I recall that I still have a half day off to be exercised. Tuesday, it shall be!!

Flashbacks

Wednesday, June 22, 2005

Strange but true. Last night while lying on my bed, I had flashbacks of a family day event in those days when I joined TD as a rookie. Oh my! That was donkey years back. But, it seems like yesterday. Our Tech department staff, all of which were some young 20-somethings, were having the best time of our lives. Images .. Memories... of these "young guns". We hopped into vans and go anywhere. Movies or dinners. Holidays are the best. Chirstmas or New Years, our desktop PCs would be wrapped up, water-proofed. For the next second, the office would be turned into a battlefield. Flour, water bombs (plastic bags filled with water) are thrown all around. Just for the record, we even had a torn breast pocket of a shirt incident. Yeah .. . we were doing the WWE Wrestling thingie. The guy (which happens to be the manager) didn't want to tap out. So, we thought that it would be nice to have a little souvenir. A piece of cloth ripped from the breast pocket. Good old times.

Now, everyone is getting on well in their own career and family life. This is good. Once in a while we get some bits and pieces of information about who's moving where. Only those few that is really close, still keep in touch with one another.

A couple of days back, I saw my colleague ordering the weirdest combination of drinks available. Sure. Fine. We've all heard of Teh Halia. Now. My colleague order Kopi Halia and Holicks Halia. Ewwwww. I cannot imagine Holicks Halia. I've tried Kopi Halia once and I am sure that it is one of the weirdest drink I've ever tasted. My taste buds refuse to register the idea of having to try out Holicks Halia.

*Updated at 2310hrs*
I thought I still had concentration during my swim just now. *Sigh* It's lost now, almost in an instant, right after my swim. Everywhere, I see Turtle's face. Here we go again. *Knocks head* Focus. Got to take my bike out for some spinning.

Nightmare

Tuesday, June 21, 2005

My nightmare. Scary shittey stuff.

Restrained by cable ties, onto a flag pole, made to see people participate in the Triathlon race.
Reason? I was late for registration.

Crushed. Totally. Watching people swimming towards the end of the swim course and making a transition to the cycling course. How evil can that be??!!! Made to watch people race.

I broke loose from the nightmare when there was a thunderstorm again this early morning at 5am. *Grumbles* I better don't over sleep on race day.

No morning swim, it was still drizzling. Mission abort.

We are already doing some prep talks on the BBQ that is happening next Saturday night. These people can have all the fun. No boozing for me. No extra spicy stuff too.

CSS Layout Progress

Monday, June 20, 2005

While on movement for RTU, after tactical break, I saw TGL driving across the street. He honked and waved at me. I waved back. I keep bumping into ManInGreen these days. Seems like we are going to have another ManInGreen gather soon, next year.

Heh heh heh ... I've managed to have some good progress on my next layout using CSS, getting the layout that I want. A better layout. Happy little man.

I hope to do some swim and cycle tonight. Let's see how the weather holds since we have a thunderstorm around 2am plus this morning.

*Updated at 2145hrs*
Woot! A good swim tonight. 100m warm-up swim, 1.5km swim and 200m warm-down swim. I've performed some self-correcting moves as I observed how I swim (by feel). At least, I don't feel like I'm "bulldozing" through the water. 1.5km was completed in 40mins. Oh dear. I think the waves will definitely take up a bulk of my time. Let me stock up my reserve tanks (makan-resup). Hungry. Starting work later tomorrow. So, a little time for me to squeeze a swim in the morning and then get my swim tights before heading to office.

A check at the Triathlon website, it displayed a "Triple Threat" "Dual Dare" challenge.

  • Race starts at 0715hrs
  • Swim course closes at 0805hrs (50mins for athletes to clear swim course)
  • Cycling course closes at 1000hrs (1hr 55mins for athletes to clear cycling course)
  • Running course closes at 1125hrs if you fail to hit the halfway mark (1hr 25mins for athletes to clear 5km of the running course)
Good luck with all your training, peeps.

Round trip distance of 38km today. To tuition location (tutoring KK), then to RanchuKing's place (discuss about our BBQ / Chalet plans and food preparation) and back home.

While at the junction leaving RanchuKing's place, Conan came up beside me in his SilverHawk. Waved at me and I waved back. Then, the lights turned green. He turned left and I turned right. I notice a bike (an uncle riding it) behind me trying to speed pass me and cut left into a carpark after we both turn right. When he knew he could not make it in time, he did the E-brake. So did I. My tires kissed his. Locked lips. His engine stalled. While I didn't have an engine to stall. ;p He wasn't shouting but he raised his voice slightly asking me why didn't I zipped straight when I turn right, when what I did was a right arc turn. I found it useless to argue. No one was hurt anyway. I took the bullet and made the first move to apologize. Sensing a defusing move (maybe), he asked if I'm okay and whether any on my bike is broken. I checked and said everything is fine. We went our separate ways. So many automobiles out there trying to cut corners and into cyclist tiny little one third of the left most lane. *Sigh* Oh well .. there isn't much education on this area anyway. Ride on.

Concuss Again

Saturday, June 18, 2005

Not again. *shake your head* More about terror munchies nightmare later.

My ride last night was just a 25.8km, using my Black Steed. Hence, I guess it was pure brute force? I saw a couple of mountain bikers heading in a different direction across the road and a lone racer on a separate location. It's cooler to ride at night. No escape. You'll still sweat profusely though. That is if you put in a good workout.

A good workout deserves some good treatment. I had Ben & Jerry. Woo-Hoo!! "Shiok" is the word. After for about 2 month, staying away from cold, spicy and sour stuff, I had my first freezing cold ice cream last night after several days of good workouts.

If possible, biking to work would be great (which was what I did today). Not a long ride. Just a 11.7km to another 11.9km back. Today's (Saturday) traffic is light, IMHO. Something which I think would not happen in places like ours, would be massive biking to work campaign. Most people are obsessed with cars. So, right after work, I picked up a pump (with a pressure gauge) for my bike. Wow! So much better than the cheapo pump that I have for my Grey Hound.

Definitely NOT for The Non Gung Ho
Now ... on to the main point of this post *drum roll*

Celebrating Father's Day a day earlier, my parents and I went for a dinner. I thought the dishes that we ordered were pretty good. Thai style fish head, deer meat with ginger slices, mushroom with vegetables and watercress soup. The Thai style fish really whipped my appetite because I've not had anything spicy and sour for more than 2 months. The watercress soup tasted great too. Pondering over what they might have for special ingredients, I observed a "rolled up leaf" of the vegetable. Don't smoke me. I do cook. Leaves don't roll up after boiling in soup. Upon closer examination, the special ingredient that made the soup tasty happens to be a caterpilla. *drum roll x 2* KNS. *pengz x infinity* Okay. I'm over the I-am-The-Great-White-I-smell-blood role. Now, I feel like a Whale Shark. No plankton leaves this hatch alive!!

No Kisetsu, still no Guinness Records intention. No Fear Factor either. :p

No training tonight. Rest day. Cycling and jog .. tomorrow.

Concuss

Friday, June 17, 2005

Shocked. Yeah right. That's the word. Petrified? Yeah, could use that too.

Definitely NOT For The Faint of Heart
I almost swallowed a staple. Didn't know how it got in there in the first place. I was munching on some titbits. A crunch on something hard alerted me. Next thing that I know, I pulled out a staple. *faintz* What a screw up method to die of internal bleeding in the office. Okay. I need to make some coffee to calm my nerves now. *shakey-shakey* I don't intend to leave my name on the Guinness World of Records this way.

Now, I know how the Predator of The Deep - Great White Shark, feels like. Swallowing metal trash. No, I am not "Built For The Kill" as in National Geographic.

Notice some changes? Yep... Created some shortcut buttons. Is the yellow color too distracting? Free to comment

*Update at 2130hrs*
Swim is rather good today. 1.4km inclusive of 100m warm-up and 200m warm-down. Happy that I achieved a little more than expected. Wrist feels okay. But, still ... I have to be careful. I hope the sky is still clear tonight. "Black Steed .. c'mon"

Glad

Thursday, June 16, 2005

Low in batt when I woke up at 7am, still ... I got to drag my ass to work. I boarded the train and starting reading my book as usual. At the next stop, I got a pat on my shoulder. It's Mr. Fong! Hey hey! It has been some time. The last time that I saw Mr. Fong was when its Samantha's first month celebration.

:) My day just started with a warm smile

Whoa... this Conan uncle wants a customization on his Mugen sticker. Type R and all kinds of ideas. Must charge this fella sky high. I still need to submit my drawing for him to vet through. KNS

*Updated at 2144hrs*
Clocked 1.2km in the pool (100m warm up, 200m warm down). Correcting a little of my own strokes as I swim along. Best news I've known for today, Water Polo team training is not going to be at my area's swimming pool anymore!! Alright!!! I don't have to travel to another neighbourhood to swim on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays anymore. Black Steed ride starts at 2330hrs. 54Brownie and Chini just gave me a call to tempt me with Roti Prata supper. Kiaoz.

StreetDirectory, No Enduro Test

Wednesday, June 15, 2005

Maybe, I'm slow. I stumbled upon the detailed routing feature (on streetdirectory.com) for bus / driving with a selection of either using the expressway or major roads. I could very well use it to plan my routes to my destinations when I'm biking! It documents the exact turns and direction (with distance included). I was using the old can.com till I found this. Anyhow, I still have my trusty hardcopy of the road directory.

Received a not so good sms from my SecSchool friend, mentioning about her dad. Right after work today, I needed to hurry off to the swimming pool. Clocked 1.1km. Really tired. Showered, get changed and rushed to meet my SecSchool friends to attend one of our classmate, her dad's wake. I always love meeting ups with my pals. Reminiscing those days that we've been through during our younger days, never fail to put a smile back on my face. Now that I'm home, I can't help but think when would we all gather again. Dinner? Coffee perhaps? Ooops. My fingers can hardly coordinate with my thoughts for blorging. Keep hitting wrong letters, need correction. I was thinking of testing my Enduro8 on my BlackSteed while at work. Okay. Safety first. No ride for tonight. Sleep early for swim/run tomorrow night. Early? Almost 12am soon. Early.

Kona 2006, Tie Fighter Squadron Decal

Just discovered this at BlueCollarMTB pointing to SingleTrack's Kona 2006 range of mountain bikes. Too bad, I just got my GT Ava 3.0. The new Caldera, Blast and FireMountain looks yummy. Anyway, its all going to be like cars, stereos and computers. Endless new models will be out each year. Endless tempting upgrades for each year. So, its eye candy for now. Or ... it could be someone's wishlist.

Last night, I came across a black and white Tie Fighter Squadron decal that looks exactly like this on the rear of a SUV. Damn ... I couldn't activate my cam on my mobile phone in time and the white vehicle sped off.

I saw this Internet Joke while browsing for coding, at W3 Schools. A techie joke.
*Quote*
Customer: "I want to download the Internet. Do I need a bigger hard disk?"
Download the Internet here.
*Un-quote*

Wait a little longer for the ultimatum, killer message!!

For Techies Only: Fedora Core 4 is out. Redhat, anyone?

Conan should be back from Bangkok today. Guess this uncle must be smiling from ear to ear. Where are my presents?

More Buttons?

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

You bet.

rather than
Upgrade from the previous 80 x 15px hamster picture for Kisetsu. I tried to draw and squeeze in the foldable beach chair. But, it looked more like a few broken poles and a piece of table cloth. So, I roamed around online for inspiring designs and found the sandcastles with a spade. Splendid idea! Why didn't I think of it in the first place??!! Now, this button looks cleaner than the other button with a beach chair (In my recycle bin now).

Here it is ... for LMD. As compared to this .. .
Yesterday, I create the neon sign button for her too. Her button, like EndlessTrail's, is one of those few "early" buttons that I have created. *Feelin lousy* So, its time to give their buttons some facelift. Come to think of it .... my own button looks kind of crappy now. Got to think of something ....

I updated my F.A.Q.s a little.

Decal Me

Monday, June 13, 2005

Fox racing logo. ... Niceeee ... I think this decal is going to be on my frame. I saw the decal design right here. Maybe I can include the word, Muggs, in the decal. Anyone interested? Probably you might want to take a look at my finished product before Emailing me.

If you have noticed by now, I'll be doing revamps on buttons. Trying to upgrade all to 80 x 30 px. I'll either trash and re-draw or work on the existing design. Patience ... people.

*Updated at 2317hrs*
Swimming pool session. After such a long break, its time to test the waters. I got to see if my left wrist will protest once I touch the chlorine water. Inital 3-4 laps wasn't good. Out of the waters for too long, even my inner ears are shouting, "Quit drowning us! Here comes the flood again". I decided to go slower and monitor the performance of my wrist. After another 2-3 more laps of warm-up, it felt better. I clocked 850m in the pool today. I went slower than I should be, allowing breaks in between. *Staring at my wrist* Just in case ...

I picked up several books at the library after my swim and met up with OCS for dinner. Since he just knocked off, I met up with him at our ex-office nearby place for some food. Some chit-chat .. told him that I'll drop by his office on one of these days when I knock off early.

Shitey News & My DSLR Dream

Sunday, June 12, 2005

Shite. Just got a piece of ugly news. Well, how shall Muggs put it?? No, its not me ..

Things in this area ain't the easiest to deal with. *Rest of the contents taken offline by Muggs* I guess by not posting it... would be better for the parties involved.

Finally swapped the Enduro8 and Mitty8. Ha... so, I just have to bring either one out for a ride tonight. *Lame excuse* Got to return some library books before the librarian chases my ass around.

Mmm.... I think the DSLR is quite achievable here .. after punching some buttons on the calculator.

*Update 2340hrs*
Damn it. The skies are red again. Looks like Black Steed is sitting around again. Alrighty!!! My comrade and his love have touched down at the airport last night around wee hours. I guess they must be having the economy class syndrome now, after flying 10 over hrs back from U.S..

Today, I came across this song on TV again. Sometime way back ..... (._.) since I last heard this song on radio.

Garth Brooks: To Make You Feel My Love
Written by: - Bob Dylan

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
And I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
There's not doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawling down the avenue
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on a rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothin' like me yet

There and nothin' that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
Make you happy make your dreams come true
To make you feel my love

For people involved in the shitey news. *Don't take things too hard*

Makan Movies Marathon

Saturday, June 11, 2005

Whoa. ... super sleepy after a makan movies session over at CLong & Liz 's place. It was great meeting everyone.

But, my day starting a little late like 10-ish am where I was online looking for info. Chatted with ZhuiTeLun via IM and I found out that this blur king has just splashed his new shirt with car coolant. Apparently, he was checking his van if he needed to add some more. Lazy to fetch his rag, he just open the cap and viola ... splashes. Even though he has left his van to cool for an hour before checking, he conveniently took it that the vehicle would have cooled off. Oh brother ....

Around 12pm, I got offline because there would be some discussion on an upcoming trip. Met some friendly folks there, though I've seen their faces at the Charity Race before. We would not be doing the full blown bash trip. But, I guess this will be a recon mission and an assessment of our physical fitness for the showdown. More or less that we have concluded our discussion for the day and some of us went over to Campers' Corner. They are having a 30% sale now. Fay bought a Whisperlite, which I seriously think that it is a neat piece of equipment. Ooei oei oei. Whisperlite is not some "my-gf/wife-use-one-ah". Guys and gals can use it. It effectively replaces your camping cooking gas in blue little containers. Imagine. No more cold nights. Drink teh-O, kopi-see, teh-tarik .... steaming hot.

Since I'm going over to the East side CLong & Liz 's place, I dropped by at one of the LBS to pick up a Mitty8. Now, got to swap my Enduro8 on my racer to MTB. I should have bought another Enduro8 to save me the hassle. I guess I was a little early too. I walked around a little to delay some time before hitting my destination of the day.

Earliest at CLong's place, I watched cable TV while playing with his dog. Smart little fella, I tell you. My knowledge for dog species is limited and therefore not able to tell. While the guys arrive slowly one by one, we started our dinner a little late. So, it was a makan-movies rather than a makan-games session. Best of all, apart from the wide spread of food, Liz's honey lemon tea is really fantastic!! It something un-explanable. Something like a warm glow in your heart that starts emitting, after several sips. SpaceCadet finally introduced her HoustonControl to me. Nice meeting him. Getting late ... senior citizens like us all got to turn in early ... all looking like sleepy heads. Hah .. had too much fun till I forgot to take out my digicam during the party.

Pocketing Some Balls

I got an IM buzz from ZhuiTeLun asking me if I'm free for dinner with JapBoy. HEck! Since I'm free, I might as well join them for dinner. They suggested to check out the new clubhouse (which I already did with Conan) right after dinner. We had GuoTie (Fried and steamed dumplings), spicy and sour soup, plus noodles.

We ended up at the clubhouse, pocketing some balls instead. JapBoy and Muggs are trying to get ZhuiTeLun to learn how to play American Pool. I must say, for a beginner, ZhuiTeLun did some very impressive shots. Beginner's luck? Not really. While ZhuiTeLun is learning how to play American Pool, JapBoy corrected his body posture.

*ZhuiTeLun bending over and taking a shot, aiming the cue ball*
JapBoy: "Ooei, your body posture is too up right. You should bend over till your chin almost touching the cue stick."
ZhuiTeLun: "Huh? Issit? But, so weird."

JapBoy: "Bend over, easier to aim."
ZhuiTeLun: "Mmmm ,...." *unconvinced*

JapBoy: "Why are you so scared to bend over? You won't bung buar liap. No one would see."
ZhuiTeLun looks into his button collar shirt to double check.
*Piak* Muggs high-5 on his kok-tao head.

Oh well, I should have brought along my blue trunks *wink at Lambie* for a swim at the clubhouse. The artificial jacuzzi pool looks inviting.

Wrist is getting better. Recovery is quite minor and slow now. It is still noticeable. "Repairs" seem to have slowed to almost a complete stop now.

Nikon vs Canon, New EndlessTrail Button

Friday, June 10, 2005

Totally konked out for last night. My alarm went off at 6am this morning and my eyelids were so heavy that it seems to have completed 3 sets of 20 eyelid dumbbell curls. I had to tap out, giving up for my run.

Nikon vs Canon. This debate can go on forevar.

NikonD70s, D50 against Canon 350D, 300D. Looks like a Triple Threat Match where its every man DSLR for himself. Not that I have not given DSLR a thought before. Since I still have my ever ready Canon A40, getting a Canon A520 is not exactly a good move. My own opinion. Yeah. DSLR can puncture a hole like a lighted cigarette through my pants. But, this puncture might be worth the move. I still own the Nikon FM2, which I love, for life.

Seems like this Nikon vs Canon war is not going anywhere.

*Update at 1737hrs*
New this
Compared to an old this

You guys are going to love *fingers crossed* the new EndlessTrail's linky button. I think this looks better. Its an animated GIF. I trashed another that I've drawn because I think that a couple of trees looked miserable. Hence, I added more trees to it and included a fade in effect. Tonight or rather Saturday early morning, our cycling-makan session seems to be canceled for now. One man down due to MC.

I Love Mathematics

Thursday, June 09, 2005

Man!!! I'm totally shack-ed out drained of energy. Tired. Low batt.

Just reach home after tutoring my cousin, KK, on her Sec 3 maths. Several hundreds of KIA brain cells during that short period of several hours. Algebra is my fav part of mathematics. But, coaching her is a difficult thing. Well, you see .. . KK is kinda lazy, refuses to think (most of the time) and makes lots of careless mistakes.

Okay, got to hurry up and wash up, then sleep. Jog has to be postponed to tomorrow morning. Nite ...

Lunch with ZhiMien

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

Since it was ZhiMien's birthday several days back, 4th June, I thought it would be a great idea to buy him lunch. ZhiMien and Muggs work around the same area and Muggs arranged for a lunch at Hans. ZhiMien was there early to find seats since lunch hours are usually packed. Its great to lunch with pals.

While ZhiMien being himself, a guy with strong interest in gadgets, showed me brochures on electronics gadgets .. tempting Muggs.... (>_<) cannot submit to the Dark side!!

F.A.Q.s

Seems like I'm getting tonnes of these questions. So, I'm creating an F.A.Q. for this. More Q & A to be dumped here as and when neccessary.

Q1: Why the CharlieBrown face? (I wish I can get a dollar each time someone asks me this, for about 2 million times already)
A1: My bud's classic Peanuts joke, on me.

Q2: Why cover the face?
A2: Afraid that people will steal my 2 million I got from Q1, just by listening to the same question. Twit.

Q3: Why the Balasing nick?
A3: My dad's nick is Bala and he loves to sing karaoke. Hence, I used Balasing.

Q4: Let me think ...
A4: *Buzzzz* Time's up.

Muggs has left the building......

Passing Baton, Cycling Rolla-Coasta

Tuesday, June 07, 2005

Last night run was fantastic. Slow, but completed my objective. 8km. I think I need more shorts. Keep running out of shorts. *Grrr*

Oooo .... Lambie is doing the flying passing baton thingie. Thai - Sin - Thai - Sin. Man, I know you (Lambie) want to clock the frequent flyer miles. I don't think this can quench your thirst for the ultimate eww business. You better settle down there fast. So, we can have free accomodation when we go to "Amazing Thailand" for shopping, tour, munchies and what have you.

*Update 2255hrs*
Reach home after fetching my MTB home from a double date. Double date? 2 guys with 2 GT Ava 3.0. Close. Something even closer. From Chinatown, Commando chose to ride Orchard then BT. Gulp!! I thought that would be insane because its peak period just after work!! Maybe its our riding styles' differences. He goes up curb, along pedestrian crossing and stuff. Not exact on the road ride as I thought it would be. Once at Orchard, he fell while trying to ride up a curb. I freaked out. What's worse? His chain got stuck, jammed. After trying to release it for a while, like 10mins.. . I recalled the bike shop around the area. I said we have to try our luck. We ended up pushing the bike there, 15mins of walking to the shop. Curses!! I thought .. .. the shop is closed for the day. Lucky, I guess. One of the few staff who were talking outside the shop helped us out. Great fella. We thanked him, least I could do is shake his hand!! But, damn, I checked my phone and I already had several missed call. One of which is an important call. Commando still lead the way after fixing his chain. While on the way joining the BT long route, I saw arrow on the road pointing towards me. Sheeet!!!! We're doing the oncoming traffic, head on!! I shrieked!!! Calling out to get out of the road and onto the pavement. I just wanted to be sure. Further down the road, its a corner turning in from the main road. If any vehicle turns in at high speed, we'll be done for. We continued the rest of the journey and stopped at BT area for dinner. Oh yeah .... I'm a little edgy now ...

The only thing I can recall now, after my "thrill" ride back, is that the stock fork is not plush. Okay, for the price ... I won't ask too much. Still better than a rigid fork. Gears shifting needs some getting used to from my TCR3. My TCR3 hasn't got Ultegra parts. But, I think it still shifts better than Ava 3.0. Speed feel and climb of this little Black Steed is different from my Grey Hound too. They belong to a different class. Eh. Odometer not on Black Steed yet.

Mm .. . . I think I'll drop the BlogConvention design. Wanted to .. . but, without desktop, a little difficult. Drawing in the office is not the best thing to do.

But, I can think of some sticker designs for my MTB and / or helmet. If Conan sees this post, he's going to bug me for his Honda Mugen sticker.

Meteor in Your Face

Monday, June 06, 2005

I hope by now they can see the meteor that is going to hit them in the face. No worries. No one is indispensible.

Take your pick. At the mercy of others or find your own way out. Most choose the easy way out. Leave it to others and hence, at their mercy. Why can't people be masters of their own fate, just by picking up a little responsibility? To this, I can only shrug my shoulders and laugh it off as I walk my path. I bid them best of luck.

Oh yeah!!! This afternoon is the first time after so long (approximately 1 months plus since my wrist injury) that I have not taken any spicy stuff. Commando helped me to grab lunch, while I "cheop" seats with my fat butt. He got me dry yong tao hu, with chilli and sweet sauce. Wah lau eh!!! My perfect excuse. I can't throw away food, right? I had to "force" myself to finish the spicy meal. Woo hoo!! Hot & happy.

More on riding and makan updates. Sat 1am. Cycle, eat, cycle. No exact route has been set yet. But, Commando, Di and Muggs will expect to meet around BT area and start from there.

My oh my. Apple Mac is going to use Intel chips. Tell me. Should I cry or laugh over it? Okay. It just sealed the fate of ideas about getting a Mac now. Their GUI still rockz. Anyway, I can replicate it as close to a Mac GUI as possible on a Linux box now. Save myself some dough.

Return of The MountainBike Jedi

Saturday, June 04, 2005

Height Wars: Return of The MountainBike Jedi
Not too long ago, in a LBS near you, a young MountainBike warrior braved the fronts of droids to ask for the price of his "X-Wing Fighter". A trader, namely "friendly LBS Auntie", gave our young Jedi knight a good lesson about height because our young warrior chose to ask for a "M-sized X-Wing Fighter". No purchase of anything has been made until now ... .. ... .... .. (sorry low budget, no scrolling text)

Date has been fixed. Today. Today is the day that Commando and I went down to the friendly LBS store near our work place. Wow... .. friendly auntie is in da house today. While looking around friendly auntie and asked if we needed some help. Of course, we're going to buy 2 mountain bikes today. I even brought my helmet because I'm going to cycle back home on my new mountain bike. Keeping my fingers crossed that the whole height topic would not surface again ..... Alas .. . I spoke too early.

Auntie: "Can I help?"
Commando: *Quick glances* "We're intending to get a mountain bike each today" (Jedi Commando meant fighter crafts)

Auntie: "Which model?" (She was asking about which model of fighter craft that we needed)
Commando: "Aaaa.... Avalanche 3.0" (Speaking slowly, treading into unknown dangerous territory now)

Auntie: "You need a S-size. S-M-A-L-L" (okay, I made up the spelling portion)
Commando: "Huh ... Auntie, you see me no up, ah. Small leh. I'm taller than Master Yoda, okay?" (Serious. Uh-oh. Jedi in rage now. I can feel the force of the dark side growing...anger, hatred. Sound of Lightsaber drawn out, Eggggg-ong!!)
Muggs: *Mumbles* "Here we go again. Uh-oh. On guard" *eyes roll*

Auntie: "Not see you no up. Look at auntie. I'm using a XL bike" (She meant fighter, when she says bike. Sci-Fi talk here. She really said XL)
Commando/Muggs: (Astonishment, exclamation in unison) "Sibo. Serious, ah?"

Auntie: "I bluff you for what. You looking at S-size now. Auntie hands shorter, riding one size smaller"
Muggs: "Ohh... .you mean XS, huh?"
Commando: "Si peh freeze, leh" (^_^)=o (*_*)

Auntie: "Hahha. XS .... XS." *embarrassed*

We deposited our IDs for 2 bikes (a.k.a X-Wing fighter), drawn out for test ride. A little difficult to test fly ... with several asteriods (human, walking asteriods) running around. We could only do it on a short strip of path. We felt that the S-Size is better in terms of maneuverability as compared to an M-Size. We decided and paid a deposit for our X-Wings, since only one S-Size is available. They place an order for another X-Wing. Constant battle with the Empire has caused the X-Wing fighters to go low on stock. Okay. We, the Jedi knights, will collect our order of X-Wing fighters on Monday. Republic and Empire don't fight on weekends.

Sugar Rolls, Green Army Socks

Friday, June 03, 2005

Polar Sugar rolls. Shweeet. They reminded me of someone in the past. I hope she's getting on well in her life now.

Look at my socks. Not much about style here. Green socks with a pair of Nike Air shoes. How stylish can green army socks be? Yeah .. . maybe in camps or with NCC cadets. Okay, I'm just being cheapo here. But, they're comfortable during runs. Who the heck cares?!! I know the color sux ... . no white balance for camera on mobile phone. I've done some color correction using GIMP already. I took the picture before I started out for my run last night.

It wasn't that long ago that I just came up with this template... .. ha.. .now, I have a new template already. Most of the components are in working condition. More or less fiddling with fonts to go nicely with it.

Dinner with AGB tonight. Not going to be as easy next time, since I'm leaving my current work place soon. We had a great time eating and talking about stuff. Who says a guy can't be a good friend of a lady?

I saw the design competition for Bloggers Convention 2005. I have 2 designs in mind so far.... have to draw them out before 10 June.

LifeDrive

Thursday, June 02, 2005

Yesterday's half day afternoon off from work was great. Conan was on leave too. We walked around the shopping area in town, had coffee and it was a natural idling session. I saw the new LifeDrive from PalmOne while window shopping. "Isn't she pretty? She's smiling at you", a voice whipsered in my left ear. "No, you have just came back from the Dark side. This is just a waste of money", another voice echoed in my right ear. I took the latter "advice". Resistance is such a pain, a sweet revenge from Temptation. I'm always displaying withdrawal symptoms, especially for staying away from electronic products. *bite finger nailz* We went on, walking around. Conan stared at some Tag Heuer Link watch, while I ogled at a $15k Rolex. Hey ... ! Ogling is free. Priceless.

Conan and I changed location to elsewhere. We went to check out a clubhouse. Seems like some nice facility they have there. We didn't visit the jackpot room. But, we had a few rounds of American Pool instead. Dozens of shots that we can laugh at. I feel that American Pools never fail to relax my mind. Walking around the clubhouse after our game, we saw a couple of divers-to-be, taking their swim pool practical sessions. Ah. ... it reminds me of my Open-Water pool training session. Gosh ... that was 6years back already.

Since Commando and I would be getting our MTB this Saturday, I would be able to ride to meet Conan and RanchuKing for a jogging session. A vehicle hide, of my MTB, at RanchuKing's house is certainly the only option. Proceed to jog, collect my MTB before heading home.
